Understanding a hangover:

Despite hangovers featuring in Literature from as early as Ancient Egyptian and Greek days, formal research into the mechanisms of Hangover causes is sparse, and often poorly reported using recycled information. Before we explain how Lifeline works, we must tell you why you get hangovers in the first place:

Whilst dehydration is often blamed for the hangover symptoms, in actual fact several other factors play their part. Alcohol is known for its diuretic effects, directly causing the feeling of dehydration (dry mouth, dizziness); however the two main causes of the hangover symptoms include toxicity from Acetaldehyde (a by-product of alcohol metabolism, before it is converted into harmless acetate in your Liver) and congeners (artefacts which remain in alcoholic drinks during the fermentation process, often associated with drinks of darker colouring). This acute toxicity can lead to symptoms such as headache, nausea, muscle weakness, cognitive difficulty, changes in cardiac output and irritability. Acetaldehyde is actually 30 times more toxic to the body than the Alcohol itself, and Lifeline can help adsorb these toxins.
